Québec consumers love their fresh cheddar cheese curd in non-sealed, hand-tied bags. Looking to enhance productivity and satisfy demand, Fromagerie Saint-Guillaume asked for CRIQ’s help in developing innovative equipment to automatically bag cheese while preserving the product’s artisanal look.

CRIQ created a processed food and bulk product bagger that automatically delivers a high-speed flow of fresh artisanal-looking product in keeping with rigorous standards for quality control and food safety. As a plus, this equipment eliminated some repetitive nighttime tasks least favoured by employees. With this innovation, Fromagerie Saint-Guillaumewas able to boost production volume, expand market share, and significantly reduce operating costs.
